VA brehs...how different is Virginia from West Virginia?

Well I’ll say this, my mans recently caught a charge for weed in West VA

West Virginia is very redneck and in all honesty fukk West Virginia.
The only reason you really want to be in west West Virginia is if you're attending WVU other than that that's it.
There are no jobs. most of the industry if not all of it is gone because that's still the rust belt.
it's been allowed to decay and there's a lot of drug usage including meth heroin and crack.
Not to mention there's been consistent population loss due to the loss of industry.
You really want to be in Virginia.
Virginia has a lot of industry and a lot of great jobs in so many sectors.
Lots of great schools there.
Plus you have access to the DMV which includes Baltimore and Baltimore and DC and those are great cities in their own right.
Plus if you want diversity Virginia is definitely it.
West Virginia is definitely not.
It's another state where the majority of the diversity comes from the college areas. When college its not in session it's just as redneck and Appalachian and white as it gets.

When I drive to Ohio from NC I go through Va and West Va. I know VA will pull your ass they love giving tickets out there. It’s definitely a hillbilly vibe in west va. But it’s confederate flag hillbillies in the rural area of the south too. I mean Va is the V in DMV so it’s more black people and they got their own culture. More metro NYish vibes than the normal southerns.

I am from Piffsburgh. About 40 min or so from WV. WV is like a different world. Most of the state is literally crackers in the hills status.

Nah, West of Roanoke, maybe Blacksburg because of Va Tech. But majority of the southwest is no bueno unless you are a redneck
Couldn’t tell you I’m from 757 southeastern Virginia closer to North Carolina someone from the western part would know. The only thing I could say is if someone was visiting from out of state and had to choose one to visit it’ll definitely be Virginia and not West Virginia and also unlike the New York being the big brother to New Jersey dynamic we don’t seem to have that with West Virginia we don’t acknowledge them like that.
Right up there with Arkansas, Wyoming and North Dakota as the most irrelevant states.
