Istanbul?

Just a few selects. If you haven't thought about visiting Turkey, I highly recommend it...definitely up in my top 2 - I can't wait to go back. Feel free to share any of your recent vacation pics in here.

You'd be surprised at how many people know English. Places like Istanbul and Cappadocia are very touristic, so a lot of people know English, Italian and some even know Japanese (they get the most tourists from these countries). You could also spend a little more money and join an English tour group, that way you're not alone most of the time. You'd be fine...to be honest, you will probably get some stares, but I can't imagine people would treat you poorly...I saw people of all races there.

Yes, people were courteous to me...and thought I'm Turkish...I get that everywhere though...I don't have a particular look, so when I went to Spain, people thought I was Spanish, Italy..they think I'm Italian, etc. I suppose I can pass for whatever. Italy is a must see - it is amazing there.
Must be nice to go to most places and simply blend in without any noticing you're different. Goat feeling :wow:

I was gonna say this but I didnt want to offend. I didnt know how sensitive you were. You can camouflage in whatever country you go to that has a decent amount of sun. LOL

lol my girl is very Anglo looking, but speaks Spanish fluently. When we were in Cuba, the locals would come up to me speaking Spanish, assuming I'm from there or Mexican...then she would answer and they were surprised cause they figured I would know the language and not her.
