The b button goes back but once you get in a category you are stuck without having to leave out and choose another category.
I don't understand what the problem is. you hit B a few times and go back. how would you like it to work?

Some stuff opens a new window when you click it. B doesn't close those windows. Therefore you have to close that window instead of just being able to move over to another screen/window.

On consoles you hit the home button and go from there. There's no equivalent process on steam.

I don't see it. B still brings me back, and also the bumpers can also switch between windows

maybe it's been awhile since you used it. like I said, they've been constantly tweaking it. getting it to be 100% controller friendly has been one of their main goals

It has been a while. My initial impression was that it was annoying to use and once I stopped using it my experience with steam was much better. If they've made it better, great.

I know they're trying to be controller friendly, I just don't feel like they are there yet. Also there are plenty of steam games that don't have controler support. Those of us in the know, know to check for that before purchasing, but I think they'll need to do more to make that apparent if they are gonna position these things as consoles. Also they need to find a way to support apps from within the steam ecosystem. People are used to watching Netflix, YouTube, ect on there console and opening them in a browser or downloading them from another store isn't ideal.

Basically what I'm saying is that the steam experience is still too PC like to be considered a real competitor to consoles.

games that don't work with a controller is what the Steam controller is for. it can basically emulate a mouse and keyboard

I haven't used SteamOS, but I'm sure they plan on incorporating Netflix and similar services. getting SteamOS up to par is what's been holding all this back

Some of these Steam Machines look like a waste of money to me. You're better off building it yourself.

These are just some examples. I think the form factor is driving up the cost. There's really none I see hear that's the same price as a PS4/XB1 but yet much more powerful.

This is a flop in the making. Who is this marketed to?

If you have a gaming pc you don't need this and you aren't stopping the vast majority of casuals from buying a console from playstation, Nintendo or Xbox brand.

That is true... The nintendo die hards will not cop this system.... they would care less about pc gaming at all...

I gotta agree, this is gonna flop. It's gonna cost $1K for a "good" system (still sub-par if you ask me). Console owners aren't gonna buy that shyt for that price. I don't know what they were thinking by saying "more powerful than the consoles at the same price." From the looks of it, that's lies.

Just get a nice desktop instead, if you want to pc game.

They are really asking for $949!?!?! for a home pc game console?!?!?! :dahell:
with a 2gb 960 and an i5 in it too. :wtf:

$1K for outdated tech? This isn't seeing the consoles, not even at that price

2gb gpu in today's environment? :snoop:

And you can only play PC games on this right? :mjlol: it's not like you can play PS4 or xbox one exclusives....:lolbron:

There's a downside right there...
