And double at NVidia being all over these shyts. They could have been the ones making EASY money from Nintendo, Xbox, and Playstation but somehow these clowns managed to piss off all 3 console manufacturers over the years and gave free business to AMD.

what does any of that have to do with these machines?

AMD been slacking on the PC side. they're long overdue to release some new cards. they haven't released a new driver since last year. and their cards are notoriously inefficient, which is not something you need in a small form factor

plus you really can't build one of those very small form factor machines yourself. it's not something that interests me, but a lot of people would like a console-sized PC

I mean it's like telling someone to not buy a Mercedes because a Toyota will get them from A to B. clearly finding the most cost-efficient solution is not on the top of everyone's priorities

this is true...even though people might be able to build a better setup for cheaper, being able to buy that shyt already put together is easier for a lot of people..people like conenvience....

like i stated earlier: it's all gonna come down to the games as to whether or not this is a success....these are being touted as gaming systems, so they gonna have to come with games that console gamers want to play to justify buying these machines instead of or in addition to a console....

yall always act like PC gamers are from another planet. but then everyone gets exited when their console-of-choice is getting a game that's already available on PC. PC gaming is not just WoW and LoL. I've never even played those games

I have the Alienware Alpha (yeah Alienware I know). All lolAlienware aside, I've been pretty happy with it after putting 8GB of ram in it and OCing the GeForce GTX 860M card. Plan to put a SSD in there and repurpose the HDD it came with as a 2nd HDD for my XB1 as well as putting an i5 in there and a new PSU so the i5 won't get throttled

It's ran everything I've throw at it at least on 1080p and High settings smooth as butter. The form factor is great for me (college student with friends on campus who also are Master Race so the portability of the Alpha is a plus), the wireless Xbox 360 Controller and Windows 8.1 License (which means free Windows 10) are what pushed me toward the Alpha. Plus the Alpha can be loaded with SteamOS and has a compartment for the Steam Controller once it is released

All in all I like my Steam Machine. When it can't run current games anymore I can repurpose it as an XBMC box and can use it to play emulators

yea, pc has a lot of games, but that doesnt mean it's games that will get console players to buy one of these systems...i know you trying to play it off as bullshyt but it's true: if it's games people dont want to play like that, why buy the system?...the same shyt goes for consoles....

and yea, cats get excited about games that come to consoles that have been on pc cause it means more game choices, but those games arent the main reason people are buying consoles...those games are side games, but not system sellers....serious question: what system seller game(s) does pc have that consoles dont and/or consoles get after pc?....besides wow, lol, starcraft, i'm having a hard time thinking of 1...but i can name plenty of games consoles either get before pc or pc dont get at all that would be considered system sellers...prime ex: gta5...console owners have had it twice already, while pc still waiting....if that's the type of game you into, why would you buy one of these systems instead of a console?....

how is the situation with GTA V that different from games that come out on PC first? and that's the "prime example" because it's pretty much the only example. most multi-plats launch on all platforms the same day

and the quality of 'system selling' console exclusives seems to be pretty low recently. but then again Knack looked fun in streams... but never the less, if you buy a PS4, it won't play Wii-U games, and so on. no matter what you choose, you're gonna be missing out on something. unless you buy all the systems, in which case a living room PC might also fit into that. word to @winb83

I'm not here to force anyone to be a PC gamer. but the PC platform has games, and some of them are very popular. being a very open platform, it will be the first place to see most indie games that are trying to do something different. it also has rather cheap games, and backwards compatibility that can take advantage of new hardware. plus modding and other user-created content. and the ability to tweak games settings, and upgrade hardware. with a console you have no option to spend more money to get better performance

you can write all of that off as "b-b-but console players don't want to play those games...", but I think that is rather short-sighted
