If white people and black women (particularly the LSA types) love this film then you already know something is wrong....
:jbhmm:that fukks up because this movie, to me at least, is low-key making fun of these types of women or more to the point, those types of black women that are a part of leftist political movements, IMO.

You could say it's low key making fun of the black revolutionary lusting after white people trope period cause Wood Harris's character was with the white chick.

Or in the case with this movie, they're with white women (Wood Harris).

that is right, like in general this movie feels like a satire/parody of far left political movements like the Weather Underground, for example.

Heard nothing but good things about this movie and her performance. Might actually see this in theaters.

Seem like Teyana wasted a good 10-15 years running behind K00nye and Shumpert.

She's been getting a lot of praise for her acting a few roles now

I disagree. That was the lens Penn's character viewed her through and we are given that insight right from the jump when their character's meet. So yes, that was his motivation in wanting to find her. He walks out of his trailer boned up because she's pointing a gun at his head and giving him his marching orders at that point. Who knew General Lockjaw's kink would be a confident black woman manipulating his little pecker's want to be dominated??

If anything they made her character a plot point and less an actual fully fleshed out character. That was my only criticism with her character.

I tried watching it and wtf with this script and her lines and charector. I can't even blame her acting because someone wrote those scenarios and someone else directed. Haven't finished..peeped its 2 hrs 45. Watching NBA pre season instead. Gonna watch it when I got time.

Or they'll have the Black male character and make him asexual to erase Black men's sexuality entirely. Hollywood keeps boxing both Black women and men into narrow, dehumanizing roles, either hypersexualized or desexualized, but never fully human. It's why I stopped watching most movies/tv shows.
Yea, most times if the Black man isn't gay, he's not paired with anyone. All about the reality they're tryna create
