CÚCUTA, Colombia — Waving banners and chanting antigovernment slogans, Venezuela’s opposition managed to puncture President Nicolás Maduro’s humanitarian aid blockade on Saturday, sending least one truck across from Brazil.

But violence also erupted at the border with Colombia, underscoring the risks Mr. Maduro’s adversaries are taking in their campaign against him.

A pickup truck of aid crossed into Venezuela from the northern Brazilian town of Pacairama, in what opposition figures said was a small but symbolic puncture of Mr. Maduro’s pledge to keep unauthorized assistance out.

“We did it,” said María Teresa Belandria, who is the Brazil envoy of the Venezuelan opposition leader, Juan Guaidó. “This is a major victory.”

Mr. Guaidó, the 35-year-old leader of the opposition who claims to be Venezuela’s rightful leader, said from the Colombian side of the border that he hoped the Venezuelan security forces would stand aside and allow the aid in.

“Anyone who is not on the side of the people and who prevents the entry of humanitarian aid is a deserter who betrays our people,” Mr. Guaidó said in a Twitter post. “Those who accompany us to save the lives of Venezuelans are true patriots.”

The Russians also delivered aid to Venezuela yet the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry was denying it. But TeleSur isn't denying the UN, Russian, Chinese aid supplies

You folks should also probably know that Red Cross has refused participation in this "humanitarian aid" delivery and is instead active on their own concerning Venezuela :hubie:Russian aid is also being accepted, but hey let's just go with "Maduro's just a cartoonishly evil Bond villain man that loves to see people starve and this is why foreign intervention is needed!!"

Wanker, we know donations Pay for salarjes, it's not a secret . You even said a lot of it goes to salaries but the link you provided doesn't state that at all. You came in here acting like you had breaking news and it's nothing more than what we already know. They pay people via donations and they are typically not as efficient as they should be with the donations

The American Red Cross regularly touts how responsible it is with donors' money. "We're very proud of the fact that 91 cents of every dollar that's donated goes to our services," The problem with that number: It isn't true.
That is because of the unusual structure of the Red Cross. Most of what the Red Cross does is take donated blood and sell it to health care providers. Of the more than $3 billion that the Red Cross spent last year, two-thirds was spent not on disaster relief but rather on the group's blood business. The charity spent $2.2 billion on the blood business, most of which went to employee wages and benefits. By contrast, the charity spent $467 million, or 14 percent of total spending, on its famous domestic disaster response programs, including the expensive Sandy relief effort.
"It probably has the effect of making the Red Cross look better than it actually is," says Jack Siegel, a lawyer who runs the consulting firm Charity Governance.
