trying to make it "mad dramatic", or trying to manufacture a new answer for them to run with?

richard was talking about the portrayal of the image of his daughter, who is a young, black girl in a prominently white sport to begin with. he understood that there was enough of the "cocky, black athlete" narrative, and he especially didn't want his 14yr old daughter labeled as such.

This seems dope, I don't think in this particular situation he wasn't being overbearing. When your 14 year old child is being interviewed and the reporter is trying to get certain response, I think it's necessary to be that protective. It's not like he was trying to steal the shine, he was concerned about his daughter keeping a youthful mentality while the interviewer is using a tactic that should be strictly used among adults. Imagine if more black children had fathers like this?:banderas:

I don't see nothing wrong with that; you have a 30+ year old man trying to play mental games with a 14 year old and her father knew what he was doing. So he checked him; but you know another angry black man being over protective:mjlol:.

Damn I wonder what happened to his over protected children:patrice:; did they become successful, naw they probably became some low class tennis players. Probably did not make it pro:russ:

Wack. She could handle herself.

Shes 14 years old breh and most this is most likely one of her first interviews what about her silence between the question for an extended period of time told you that she could handle this alone and why should she? Also the dad is setting the tone for all the other interviewers who wan't to pull bullshyt on children.

How the hell do you expect a 13-14 year old girl especially in a historically white sport to handle a journalist's psychologically trick questions which are used to illicit a certain response at her age?

How was that a trick question?
