NY Hip Hop already fell of when G-Unit was on top. It wasn't street niqqas and what we were listening to that dictated what was getting spun any longer. The Lox represent the last of the era of what NY niqqas on the block wanted to listen to that got heavy play as a result of it. This is around the time when wack ass Ebro and company helped destroy NY hip hop.

Every hustler, goon and straight bugout I know listened to Dipset. Not sure what you're trying to say. Did they get as much love as the Lox did in the penitentiaries? Of course not. But they was big BIG.

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
NOPE!

I'm going to keep saying that them Ebro type cats did more to make these dudes more relevant than the streets dictating what gets played on New York radio.

The Lox were the LAST of the groups where what we followed on the streets was then followed on the radio. The last.
No. Ur fukking WRONG bruh. U fit the mold of the nikka that was too old. U talkin bout some Ebro shyt. fukk is u talkin bout fam nikkas fukked wit the Diplomat Vol mixtapes and they was all hosted by Kay Slay. It wasn’t even mainly the radio that dictated how hot they was. U fukkin cappin bro like I said, u bias cause u was prolly too old and didn’t really fukk wit they vibe like that but to blame the radio on why people loved Dips is off brand as fukk. Being that they got hot off mixtapes and most of their joints on Diplomatic Immunity was already on mixtapes. They was heavy on the Smack DVD’s amongst other DVDs as well. U are WRONG bro. I was OUTSIDE. And one of my nikkas sonned Juelz right infront of me. But that still ain’t what we talkin bout here.

Maybe you're right. I maybe too old because it was my people who popped Zeeky and they were 90s goons still holding on in the early 00's around the time I said "BYE!! I"m not fukking with yall anymore!!" :mjlol:

New York
the lox won, but i dont like the dipset slander cuz dipset did hold it down, especially cam, they wasnt just getting super spanked.

what i realized watching this verzus:

  • Juelz put in a lot of work for dipset. nikka had some in the cut and was leading the way for a lil while. Respect to Juelz.
  • Cam got that harlem non chalant i'm better than you swag you feel me, and i feel the lox was gettin this nikka heated up and amped up and we got to see the best of cam at times, cuz the lox was going really hard at them nikkaz like a super hard ric flair chest slap, but cam would hold it down and would come back strong too, it was crazy and unbelievable.
  • Jim got some classics that deserve more respect. You really had to be into Jim Jones/Byrdgang to really appreciate his work.
  • There was no way dips could of beat the lox, and that's because the lox are super good at their craft, performance, sportmanship. They got an awesome hip-hop catalog and their performance of it was 10/10 and it really made me respect and appreciate their catalog more. The most important part of this, is not just the music. But when the lox said "We Are The Streets" we saw that last night. The lox is the streets, aint no way the dip was gonna win.
  • The lox represent that real street shyt. that gutta, grimey, everyday nikkaz. They made music for the streets. They put the streets first and the streets put them first back.
  • Jadakiss was a hell of a performer. I thought he would be one of those rap over the song, catch ya breath type dudes. But nah, this guy is a master at his craft and he really do this hip-hop shyt. The only guy i seen could do that really good too is snoop. They are masters and deserve top dollar every
  • time.
  • The Lox defenitely convince me to go to one of their shows. It's on my bucket list, I need to see these legends live tearing it down. They set the bar for this verzus shyt. They better take notes. Anybody who come next should really take it seriously, rent a dance studio and reharse their performance. This is a grear platform to convince the masses to come to your show. They can even increase the prices and make a good bag.
  • This was a big win for hip-hop, the lox showed nikkaz how this hip-hop shyt is really done.
Yeah, while the Lox won by a large margin even Cam did his thing. But he also nearly negated it with that last acapella freestyle fiasco.
Also, Jim Jones has hit records but unfortunately many don't translate in a battle setting.
No one was fukking with Jada last night. I can't even think of someone I would put at the opposite end of what he did last nite and give them a chance.

Here's my thing. The Lox came out when Wu members were dropping solo albums. The Lox came out when Mobb Deep was in its heyday. When you had a crew, your entire team had to have BARS!!

That was LONG GONE by the time Dip Set were "what's hot." New York rap lost its standards by then. I mean.....look at their team? Cam is the only one who can spit out of the whole crew. New York rap was ass by then, at least to this New Yorker and a lot of real gritty street dudes I used to rock with.

Who New York gave love to yesterday reminded everyone of that difference.

This is SERIOUS cap. Not even close to true. I can tell the nikkas on here that was either too old, too young, or just not outside during their run. Lol
I don’t even remember who was more popular tbh. I wasn’t even a teenager when the first couple lox albums dropped. But I was older when the dips had their run.
With that being said because the Lox has better spitters and showmanship to match . Dipset took a major L. Cam is the only one that can actually spit. The diplomats whole gimmick always been about having “swag” and fashion. Unfortunately in a rap battle that’s not gonna cut it. Jada pretty much bodied the whole crew
