Jay is not great on stage bro. They both like neck and neck. Jada is better than both on stage. Lol.
I think Jay was weak on stage in the late 90's but he got better and better on stage. I've seen Nas live twice. Once was real dope and the other was real bad. Strangely bad. I'll chalk it to an off night, but Jay seems real consistent from everything I've seen. That B-Sides show he did was super fire.

hell no. dipset got no one to blame for that but themselves. they had counters. Cam has a Mariah record, three Kanye records, two joints with Pun, two DMX records, and a whole lot more (Just Fire, etc).

they just had a shytty set list.

meanwhile, jada was acting like he either a) knew the dipset playlist in advance, or b) took the time to sit down with his DJ and talk about the counters they were gonna play to certain dipset records.

that’s how his NY record gets a pop like it’s a counter record when they were going first the whole time. That’s called professionalism breh.

The year 3030
Both sides could've done better with the songs chosen, why they didn't play the hits I have no idea. Cam had a point "y'all just playing mixtape shyt" and "y'all playing shyt y'all are featured on, you look like side bytches" he had a point, LOX could've easily ran through their entire catalog and individual catalogs instead of relying on the featured songs. Dipset the same, idk why they had juelz on mute for like 7-8 songs and I'm not sure why they didn't play the big cuts in a better sequence. LOX also played 4 songs in one round, not sure why but they did.

I will say LOX had the better chemistry and took it seriously as MC's, dip set just looked like a regular diplomats show lol nothing they did was new or shocking, if you were shocked by that you have never seen them perform live, it's always a mess lol.

Jadakiss knew they were the underdogs and came out swinging, that being Swizz and Timbo need to have this shyt more organized, they even got cut short because of the people on the stage and because they were reaching their time limit

I enjoyed it though

I wouldn't say they were relying on it...Cam had no point.

like earlier said in the thread, nothing was stoping the dips from using anything they were on...other than them not utilizing it

I really stayed up to damn near after six in the AM while on vacation watching this on some janky Italian internet.
despite Dipset's poor performance, the energy from the show had me wanting to stay up. I've had like three and a half hours of sleep.

so let me ramble.

The LOX, Jada specifically put on a clinic for a second time in this Verzuz.
it showed why in New York, Jada is second to Jay-Z in the way he's beloved.. he might not have the albums but everybody loves Kiss.

there was a point very early on were as soon as Cam finally came on the stage it felt like the show was about to revolve around him.
yet, he sat his ass down on a chair thinking he was above it and thats when Jada took control.

this summed Dipset up actually, too cool to prepare. more concerned with showing off the new pieces.
its the story of their career..legends and a great run but if they had actually planned shyt and never fell out, the run would have went longer.

Jim got too high/drunk, Juelz is an annoying crackhead who's hard to watch at times and he made it more aggy than needed to be.
you could see Cam get annoyed with them and go into business for himself... thats whenever he could be bothered.

he put up 40 in a loss.

I still can't believe the songs Dipset left on the table.

The LOX did something you only see in movies were the underdog takes the crowd from 50/50 to everybody is cheering for them.
to the point the crowd even turned on Cam.

Cam tried to go into I'm the real star here, I'll have the last word shyt at the end but it was too late and the crowd weren't jacking it.
he had lost and it was home time. hit him with the

:camby:

Dipset could have won in a set 30 playlist battle...but with the crowd and the battle ready approach it was Living off Experience all day.
showman ship, chemistry and the most ready song selection won over typical Harlem shyt.

if this was G-Unit against either two..they way they were talking to each other this was probably escalating into violence

now back to my vacation.

Kiss is not bigger than Nas in New York, let’s all calm down now :francis:

Looks like Dipsets presence and influence and hiphop were overrated after all :yeshrug:

I'm not. They made outta town rap. It was all swag rap with only one niqqa that had bars (Cam). that's not NY hip hop. Maybe in Harlem, but NY niqqas out here weren't feeling them like that. Been saying this for over 15 years.
I think it might be a generational thing too. Dipset was big with High Schoolers. They were getting outta that Ruff Ryders street phase. Also if you're from Uptown, it's pretty much Dipset land. I was already in College when Dipset blew and they were getting play in the clubs but the Lox music was huge too but also overshadowed at the time by BIG, Puff, Mase, DMX, Nas, Jay-Z. They came through at the time when it was really crowded. Dipset had a clearer lane.

Just saying, you guys all arguing but as a matter of perspective you're both right. In High School, Dipset was definitely bigger. Lox ran with it for longer but they were overshadowed by absolute GODS of hip hop.
