I swear on ALLAH i thought that one LL song that "Love You Better" shyt was a 50 Cent original.Y’all gettin carried away now. The amount of content g unit has that was poppin is ridiculous. Their mixtape shyt went mainstream. Would be close maybe but the unit just had more shyt poppin.
And that’s with just 50, banks and yayo. Wouldn’t even be fair if buck or game was still around.
50 always has the crowd lit. Just went to a banks show in Brooklyn. Dude had the crowd goin crazy.
NY fukks wit them HEAVY. We all know yayo is hyped all the time.

I meant fukking with them to the degree like the Lox had NY on lock.
I was around big goons throughout the 90s and 00's. It was always our wants that dictated radio play and it was always based on your entire team spitting bars. That shyt changed when Dip Set got big. Jim J and Juelz would NEVER have been given a mic in the 90s yet were big in the 00's. They rep NY street's loosening grip on what was hot. Real talk....

I never really got that impression. I'm not saying you're wrong, but I always thought songs like 24 Hours, Last Day, Reservoir Dogs, Blackout, Benjamins, Started Something, etc, all sounded just as much like Lox songs as anyone else. That was an era of posse cuts and crew joints, and if anything I think a lot of those songs in my mind are more Lox songs because they've got 3 verses on most of them, and in some cases wrote verses for other cats on the same songs.I think it might be a generational thing too. Dipset was big with High Schoolers. They were getting outta that Ruff Ryders street phase. Also if you're from Uptown, it's pretty much Dipset land. I was already in College when Dipset blew and they were getting play in the clubs but the Lox music was huge too but also overshadowed at the time by BIG, Puff, Mase, DMX, Nas, Jay-Z. They came through at the time when it was really crowded. Dipset had a clearer lane.
Just saying, you guys all arguing but as a matter of perspective you're both right. In High School, Dipset was definitely bigger. Lox ran with it for longer but they were overshadowed by absolute GODS of hip hop.

Now I want to see LOX versuz G-Unit just to see Jada shyt talk them![]()

I like Dipset and I never thought about it this way, but I think you might be right.I meant fukking with them to the degree like the Lox had NY on lock.

I thought Dipset was kind of like NY's own version of less lyrical and more anthem based music that was trending in other parts of the country.I was about to say, dude was about to get his kufi smacked permanently that night. All I think about when seeing him is him getting clapped by my people.

It was some Crown Heights/Nostrand Ave goons who robbed and shot him back in 03'. I had long gone from hanging out with them dudes because it was too much policing to stop their goonery.I was about to say, dude was about to get his kufi smacked permanently that night.![]()
This was all so long ago though. Half the Unit members have beef with each other currently. Banks just dropped a song like 2 months ago dissing 50. When's the last time that G-Unit rocked a show together? Their last time reuniting and releasing music clearly showed the chemistry was missing. If this was a Versuz during loickdown and it was just MP3s being played, then maybe G-Unit would have a chance. But in a live show format here in 2021?Y’all gettin carried away now. The amount of content g unit has that was poppin is ridiculous. Their mixtape shyt went mainstream. Would be close maybe but the unit just had more shyt poppin.
