Literally most of the songs from Verzuz.

I Need A Hot Girl
Big Ballin
400 Degreez
Slow Motion
Still Fly
Project Chick

Here’s the thing: I actually DJ and go to HBCU/School/Black Youth events. Don’t forget the 00’s/Freaknik party theme was HUGE the past year.

Many songs get passed down in the South.
For example Big Ballin is a Mississippi anthem and forever tied to bands like Jackson State University because that’s their theme song. Every HBCU style band plays it.

Choppa Style is another one of those songs that’s big with cheerleaders.

Thing with NL is alot of their songs (especially in their prime) didn’t last the same way CMR, Boosie, Webbie, etc did. Largely because they didn’t make “party” music and none of their top artists stayed relevant (we know what happened to Mystikal)

Breh, slow motion is Soulja Slim song in a sense, Slim gave it to Juvie,

Here is Southern U playing Gangsta B, they literally play it against that band you posted Jackson ST, everytime they whop their ass in the football games.

Here is SU playing "Down 4 my nikkas" The band literally would play this song in their chants

Here is SU playing "Swamp nikka and Down 4 my nikkas"

SU plays Mia X Party Don't stop so does JSU band

Breh what is you talking bout....

SU plays Boosie, they literally had a whole Boosie set lol

Again Breh what is you talking bout

I don’t know what you’re even trying to debate.

I never said NL had none. But I did say that CMR has way more old songs that are relevant and played at the current young Black generation’s events.

I aint even saying NL didn’t have hits. But their hits are more for the 40 & up crowd and CMR has more crossover to the current generation.

Thus, Saturday was the first time most people heard/saw those NL songs performed. CMR is on tours, Tiny Desk concerts, etc with their names out there so it’s less of a “wow” factor.

Alotta these people on here are the same ones who didn’t realize how big Youngboy really is lol.

How the heck did she even get backstage like that then😂.

Cold part is she was literally the only NL artist that was at P’s “farewell” Essence concert. His own brother didn’t show up but she performed:lolbron:.

Again, they should’ve had this in New Orleans

CMR ONLY HAS
MORE CROSSOVER APPEAL TO THE
CURRENT GEN BECAUSE
WAYNE EVENTUALLY WENT
ON TO BECOME THE BIGGEST RAPPER
IN THE WORLD.

CMR FELL OFF HARD JUST LIKE
NO LIMIT

😂Only? They have more crossover appeal because they knew how to stay relevant, adapt and pivot. It’s why you still hear CMR slang and songs/flows sampled currently.

30 years later and Baby is out on-stage at the hottest Black tour is wild, but to be expected because they’ve had the longest run in hip-hop history.

P’s formula has always been to imitate and make quick money with no long term efficiency. It hit HARD but had no staying power.

Nationally NL was on poppin in 1997-late 1998 until CMR came and took over in 1999 (no pun intended) being more authentically New Orleans and innovating.

CMR never fell off anywhere near the absolute drop NL had where they just started started straight up imitating CMR in every way.

And I say this as somebody who was a big NL fan since Down South Hustlers and P’s very first Southern hit “Bounce Dat Azz” (Bout It hit a lil later when the video got Rap City play in early 1996)
