Just watched this interview with Tobin Costen (the executive vice president of NL during their prime)…where he talks about how they did business back then…basically the classic homeboy exec model that ultimately led to the label going bankrupt once BBTB came to collect what they were owed

I think the crowd issue is them not having any faith in the the event running on it's own. This was a complexcon event, so the crowd was probably a good number of ppl who were there for complex con and just happened to see the verzuz shyt and decided to check it out. If it was was like other(all or most?) Verzuz then it wouldve had it's own thing that way the crowd wouldve been people who really fukk with the culture and artists.

I wonder if this is some more disrespect of the south shyt. Did they not have faith in it because it was two south movements going against each other or because this the first verzuz in years? i feel like if a 50 or Jay were involved as one of the participants, they wouldve done a proper one.

Cash money did not put on a bad show.

They were bullied musically, more than anything but I see alot of people dont want to have that conversation.

If they did this battle virtually. The results would be the same.

No limit put out alot of their best music before 97.

CMR is musically still relevant with the younger generation. Literally all the songs they did last night still get play at HBCU undergrad parties and bands.

NL not so much at all outside of Choppa Style & Down 4 My N’s.

That's because CMR is moreso 2000s while no limit was more 90s.

I agree with most of this, but I don't think this was sabotaged. It wouldn't make sense. There hasn't been a Verzuz in years. Why would they not want the first Verzuz in years to be huge? I think it was great for how it went down. It was nearly 2 hours. It could've went on for nearly 4 because there were definitely songs from both sides that didn't get played that were missed. They could even run it back for a Round 2 given how successful this one was.
