Nintendo knows they can get away with it.
Most games will be 70. The only games Microsoft can realistically sell is call of Duty and the next elder scrolls. Maybe Forza Horizon 6.I would say for Sony, Gran Turismo, Spider-Man, God of War and The Last of Us. Even Nintendo will have their limits. Mario Kart, Mainline Mario, Mainline Zelda. That's it. Nintendo gon learn about that Kibry price with the upgrade, most will not get that upgrade pack.

I think an $80 price tag would hurt every single one of those games outside of COD and Nintendo is only getting away with it because Mario Kart is the only major launch title.

it will be interesting to see how Mario Kart sells outside of the launch window

If not this year then next, they won't ignore profits on yearly sports games and the big IP they own

This is wild to see cause EA is probably one of the few publishers that could get away with raising prices due to the built in FC and Madden/College football fans

i think publishers quick to raise prices are going to regret it
Not as long as people such as yourself try to justify the price increases like you did when Sony started this shyt to upsell the ps5 versions of PS4 games

That's all you've gotten this gen, it's really pathetic you boys have no games to claim as your own but uncle Phil will take care of you Carlton :francis:

You yourself can't put a price or value on a franchise because you're biased. I prefer Xbox for valid reasons, no stannery. A agree with most of what you said other than who can get away with it and what franchises could get milked.

I'm saying they been greedy, and now they have priced themselves out of the secondary console market and is trying to compete with the main market again like it used to do. They can't get away with it because they was forced to bow out
Nintendo with all it's exclusives didn't dominate the GameCube era, the Wii was cheap and a fun gimmicky interface "innovation" is what sold the Wii which sold a ton of consoles but it wasn't a mainstream console. Some of you acted like sales mattered but nobody really liked the Wii (I did) but most mainstream gamers didn't care for it after they got one. This will not end well for Nintendo guaranteed, tbc...

They have a model that works so they'll be fine. First it's full price, a month later it's half price. Then they put it on sale randomly over the course of 8 months with the price decreasing as the season goes along. Then it's in Gamepass/EA play and they repeat the cycle every year.

So in conclusion a move like this makes consumers want to buy in, and It's better to have 10ppl buy a $60 or $70 dollar game than it is to have 5ppl buy an $80 game.

The fact that it's mostly digital means they making all this off the same one file so don't think of this as moving physical units. And that's how they maximize sales :tu:
