Which is exactly why you nikkas should care when we tell you this is a terrible idea...We have experienced the constant failures of always online DRM...Luckily on PC you can bypass this shyt easily, yall won't be able to that on a closed system...

This really isn't that big of a deal. Before my wii got "changed" I used to have it always connected so it auto updated and the wii remote sensor was always plugged in even if games didn't use motion controls. I think this will be pretty much the same thing. Not every game will use kinect nor require online connection. Also installing games will make them run faster during play than reading a disc. It makes sense

Exactly. So much fukking fail in this thread. Do you nikkas disconnect your Xbox 360's and PS3's after every gaming session? Why are people so shocked by always on? Do people feel that M$ will be spying on their boring ass lives or something?

I disconnect my PS3, Xbox and PC and unplug the main power source every night. Can't be wasting electricity while I'm asleep and I damn sure can't monitor auto updates while asleep.

Sounds just like the optional 360s low power game install mode instead this time the system will constantly be downloading game updates/patches/OS features when turned into that state.

This is exactly what its for, its actually says this much but ppl wanna complicate things
It clearly says so you can instantly start up games. For me to get online via some games it takes 2/3mins. 2K and Madden take a while before you can get TO THE GAME
Uncharted takes about 2 weeks before a game starts.
This will eliminate all that. If you don't have online, you will be operating at similar speeds to what you go thru right now to start a game. Yea!!!

always online? what if you "don't have" or "disconnect" the internet?

Then you wouldn't have updates just like ppl who don't have internet right now.
