One of the secret service agents gave an interview where he said when they planes hit the towers someone who was there repeatedly asked Cheney if he wanted to activate the country’s security protocols and Cheney repeatedly told him no.

Dude said the last time he asked Cheney turned in his chair and glared at the the man and said something like “what did I fukkin say?!?”

Bush was hurt when Kanye said he didn't care about black people, where as Trump would retweet it and say “how could I hate black people I hire them to clean my hotels?”. We could see this level of diverse republicab leadership again but not under Trump where black people in leadership positions are judged for their access to opportunity more than their ability.

Also I will say this, its a large difference between Colin Powell and Tim Scott and how they interact with white people.

Curious on your thoughts on the differences, I’ve always considered Colin Powell to be a more honorable version / iteration of Black republicanism in comparison to Tim Scott. But don’t want that assumption to be rooted in ignorance.

Nah, they were evil too. Cosigned an unjust war among other things. They 'lucked' out due to 9/11 & social media being in it's infancy. They just didn't push the MAGA rhetoric...only used terrorism to push the Patriot Act.

They are, they were more of what Republicans used to be imo. "Fiscally conservative" although they still wanted to enrich their side. Once Obama got elected, the Republican lost their minds and people like Michael Steele, Powell, Rice to name a few decided they weren't going down that path
