Old dude talking to them outside of the screening was starting to piss me off

There are a lot of older black people out here that experienced racism first hand and still didnt learn anything

They dont know shyt and theyrw teaching that ignorance to the next generation smh

That old dude schooled those clowns outside and had them stuttering. He asked them a simple question which goes to the heart of all their wasted energy on movie hardly anyone saw.. he said what part of this movie wouldnt empower his daughter or at least pique her interest to learn more about her history and harriet Tubman on her own?

Whether you like some of the finer details or side characters is debatable. Whether you interpret things differently is ok. But you got kids that know 0 about their history these days. Even on small scale, movies can get them interested to learn more and research on their own. Nobody takes a single movie as gospel.

Stop it dude. That kid doesn't need no harriet tubman for fake empowerment. They already got black girls rock and other phony lame shyt. In this new era, women are promoted to be superior to men especially in the black community, which we all know is a fukking ridiculous lie.

That girl power shyt won't last tho, it's just a fad right now. When real shyt happens, you'll see all them nutcases start hiding under the bed begging for protection. :youngsabo:

We should overlook the historical inaccuracies and outright revisionist fantasy that paper over the insidious nature of those who enslaved our ancestors just so that little black girls can learn about Harriet Tubman? I don't think that's a fair trade, breh.

There is a phrase that goes don't throw out the baby with the bath water. No movie is 100 percent historically accurate. But overall, yall are nitpicking minor details. That's not what most people are walking away from this movie thinking based on all reviews I've read. There are some positive takeaways whether you want to admit it or not.

Instead of trying to fight against the movie, call names, and cause disruptions that make yourself look crazy, the energy should have been used as a teachable moment to encourage people to learn more about harriett on their own. Cause at the end of the day the move doubled its production budget. Made 36 million on a 17 million budget. The message would have resonated better by piggybacking off the movie versus trying and failing to go against it.

No, it didn't recoup shyt. Tha't why focus features is panicking. You only posted the production budget and not the advertising which is way higher than that. Stop typing bullshyt, the shyt flopped. It wasn't even shown internationally which is a huge fail.
