I think its kindve both,he did say he was on that experimental vibe too while he was recording Honest,and that he watered it down to try to be respectful of his situation with Ciara....So as somebody whos creative he probably does want to experiment and make weird music,do collabos with Miley Cyrus,do a lot of singing sometimes....But he knows his core fans aint tryna hear that shyt.
As a fan I appreciate the fact he's not trying to force his artistic urge to experiment down the throats of day one fans who want the old Future....He didn't try to force garbage like Yeezus on us and tell us it was genius and next level shyt,and we better catch up....He didn't arrogantly tell fans who put him in the position he's in to "Buy his old album" if we wanted the old Future
All these artist who quickly sold they day one fans out in order to appear "bigger than hiphop",or sold out to "expand they brand".....Future did it the right way,we've seen a lot of artist stray,and stay gon so long its too late to come back
