i’m just gonna say it… I dislike ‘Respec’

i know people hate the idea of being locked into bad builds but that should be the motivation for a future playthrough for a game. Otherwise it just makes build choices feel inconsequential. Like if I’m going through a game role playing as a barbarian and all it takes is for me to talk to an npc and become a wizard it just feels like i throwing a large aspect of the meta ‘role playing’ out the window.
There are some games out there that are most unplayable if you pick the wrong build. It's antifun and takes away from the roleplaying experience of you lacl the tools to roleplay. No one wants to start over after 7 hours simply because they picked the wrong combo of ability points. A better way of implementing this is to make respecing cost the player something....time, effort, in game cash, limits....

I dislike open world games. It's the developers lazy way of filling a game with content, in an otherwise empty game. Holding the forward button for 5 minutes, going from place to place is not game play.

Immersion breaking customization options. For example. I hate the utter abomination of creations that exists in Street Fighter 6 Battle Lounge create a characters that I'm subjected to just cuz they let the body physics slider options go to the extremes.

Just the same, I detest mods in general as well due to this bullshyt too. Seeing Toy Story Woody as the faux main character in Sekiro is only fun for shyts n giggles for all of about 0.26 seconds before it just makes me hate people that much more than my usual.
I disagree mods add alot yea there are silly shyt like you mentioned but you really don't have to see that shyt since alot of it is client side. But mods can give let people add their own touches to the game and add some freshness. I mean look at what happened with MvCI shyt was dead in the water but it has a resurgance due to people modding the game, same with Marvel 3. Then of course you have shyt like Skyrim which has been a modding haven that drastically changes how the game can be played. Mods also fix issues that the developer takes to long to fix as well.

I don't buy games for that either but if I see a mod thats interesting then I will definitely download it. Like I've been playing Marvel 3 since it came out in 2011. Seeing people add mods that expand color palettes, costumes, and the character roster adds freshness to a game that is old as hell and I think thats a great thing. Of course you don't have to use them but its nice to have that option. For a more recent game, take sparking zero seeing people mod in characters that they won't add for a long time like manga exclusive characters, even what-if characters, and more obscure outfits like Xeno Goku can add enjoyment to the game. I see it as the same as someone making a song and then someone else taking that instrumental adding their own touch.

Some mods are really good. Like the AI is notoriously worthless in CiV games and Vox Populi made the game more balanced and competitive instead of the standard way of handicapping yourself to make up for how inept the AI is

Yall playing softball in here :unimpressed:

tip for these kind of threads: if no one is going to quote you telling you you’re wrong or stupid for thinking that way, then not enough people like that feature enough For it to be a legit answer.
You're wrong and stupid for thinking that someone has to quote you telling you that you're wrong and stupid for a post to be viable
