Yeah I had a few chances to join a gang growing up but I could not wrap my head around being a follower and you kinda gotta be a follower type to click up and do what your homies do all the time. I always did my own thing in high school. Main reason I didn't join the military too.

Same here. i grew up suburban and gangs werent everywhere obviously. My oldest friend from like 3rd game came from a street family and moved to my city.

As we got older breh was like my blood brother, stayed over every weekend, moms took him school shoppin and shyt. He went the family route and repped piru.

On one hand im just around my best friend and on another i'm around gang shyt. Im at the bbq when shots ring off, i'm playin 2k at his place when hoes come through to get trains ran and he's sellin to whoever pulls up.

It wasnt until lines blurred and instead of me being the respected different dude, they started lookin at me like you with us? Had to drop breh.

I don't really keep in contact with him like that. I moved across the nation a couple years ago tho. Last time I came home I went to his IG and he was posting stories showin bagged up coke and in the car with an extended clip.

Whether it’s Bloods, Crips, GD’s, BD’s, Latin Kings, etc. or block crews

No they don't. Every city has hoods that have conflict with each other, that's not the same thing as the gangs in Chicago, LA, or cities with those gangs engrained in to their community.
