1. remember stuff like this whenever cac broadcasters complain about the lack of "loyalty" among players who are trying to feed their families
2. I'm not a Vikings fan but it's sad seeing a great player's prime wasted on bad teams. We've witnessed history over the last few years, he's a special player. I wish he had played for better teams.
3. If my son wanted to be a RB I'd make sure he worked with TE or WR coaches learning how to catch and run routes. The best way to prolong your career as an RB is to be able to catch in the backfield. Reggie Bush could play for 2-4 more years due to that alone.

RB's are gonna continue to be less valuable as more and more teams realize they can just plug and play competant RB's into a system without losing much on the ground.
my only question is does RB go the way of the FB.
The disconnect is that Running is the most glamorous position from little League to High School (excluding QB of course)

that's shyt is going the way of the dodo bird. WR is the glamor position nowdays outside of QB. WR's be all on sportscenter, making more $$ than elite RB's, and they always get away with the flamboyant TD celebrations. all this, plus their career tends to be much longer due to a good WR only having 80 touches a year as opposed to 300 for a workhorse RB.
No one has passing games that make being a WR worthwhile until you get to college though.
They just need to pay RBs a premium every year
