A lot of stuff that worked in 1946 doesn't work now

. Orgs are all about their bottom line. Having guys play 82 or even close is obviously not making enough of a difference. Players played back in the day because there was no alternative. Owners, coaches, and fans have provided that alternative. Owners all about their money. Coaches all about having their best guys when it counts. Players getting paid either way and stand to make more the longer they can stick around. Not to mention their bodies being run into the ground for free before they stepped into the league. And since you do have superior skillsets and athletes out there doing more the game is more taxing as well.
Kerr is a Pop guy. Pop started this shyt and people stay overlooking that. Kawhi took it to its zenith or nadir depending on your perspective and people crowned him. Once a nikka load managed to a chip, it was a wrap.
Aint nothing changing unless fans demand it. That includes actually appreciating the regular season as its own entity, not one big prologue to the playoffs. Fans buying into rings culture and nothing else matters but winning in June (along with way too many teams getting in) is responsible for teams being

about the regular season. Its also responsible for tanking. Teams are blatantly throwing entire seasons and fans rock with it in hopes of getting that next superstar that can eventually get them in contention instead of demanding the best possible product. While I am on my soapbox...the draft is some bullshyt in principle and the way the do it only makes it worse.
