my money would have been on Scott Steiner in a shoot fight anytime from the 90's to the mid 2000's. Muay Thai and football background was not gonna stop a similar sized amateur wrestler with similar athleticism from putting him on his back and giving him the instrumentals. Sorry.

Goldberg was training MMA in the 90s at his home gym before anyone knew anything. Id take that even over a good amateur wrestler.

No diss but there's a reason any fighter worth their salt will tell you wrestling is the best base to start with if you want to fight. There's also a reason strike oriented fighters try to avoid fighting grapple based fighters as long as they can in MMA
