You're a fan of fake thugs who vocally resemble Imani from the Pharcyde? That floats your boat?

the belly of the empire
the first 20 minutes of this interview got more insight on the reality of things than 98% of the interviews by any "conscious" rapper and there won't be a thread on it

It's surreal to see a rapper be this 100. He doesn't care. Vince gives no hold back to his views on life.

STAPLES: You gotta think about it like this. This is just my question. And I understand that race plays a part in everything. I understand that money plays a part in everything. I understand that situations and family play a part in everything. But when someone dies, and you're looking in the face of a white person and saying, "They just killed a black man," and you expect them to relate to that, that's a problem. Cause they don't know what it's like to be a black man. They never will. They can't. They can pretend they do. "Oh, that's wrong." You don't know what that feels like.

You remove, "Oh, they just killed a person. They just killed a father. They just killed —" That's in the back burner. We want — we tend to separate ourselves in search for equality, and it's past race. We want to separate ourselves, but be held in the same regard as the people we're trying to disconnect ourselves from.

This album was only alright...

BUT

Lift Me Up almost single handily surpasses kendrick faux black power album...don't even remember what it was called...

Got some friends coming over for the 4th of july weekend and one of my friends is bringing his super c00n friend...

When we hit up Razoo's tomorrow I am putting it on repeat and checking for his reaction...

He start squirming or melting or some shyt then this song goes on the c00n checklist...

"I'm just a nikka...until I fill my pockets..and then I'm Mr nikka...they follow me while shopping" :wow:

"Waiter still aint bought the chopsticks...I should have brought the choppa...the driver in the cock pit look like jeffery dahmer...but they looking at me crazy when we pull up to the projects:wow::wow::wow::wow:

Still don't know if I fully get the Moses Shakah Zulu line...seems like there is a double entendre in there that i am missing

Look at him. Listen to him. He's a fraud. He hung out with fukkin oftwga.

This dude is the gangsta marketing scheme of Kendrick.

I don't see a fake, I would have assumed someone would have called him out already if he was faking.

Cosign. The album is alright. What happened to this Vince?

He realized to draw a bigger audience he had to ditch the monotone flow and add more energy. Subject matter wise and skill wise more or less the same

I'm pretty sure this was when he was staying at their(Syd's) house because some shyt had happened back in LBC (that he never likes to talk about) he needed to get away from. So because he hung out w these dudes on occasions it makes him a fraud?
