Not my type of sound and I wanted to like this.

fukking lies. Go back and listen to Summertime 06 or Shyne Coldchain 2.

All marginal to trash. I even bought that hell EP and the summertime album. Promptly sold them back to the store. Kid is garbage.

Only had time to listen once today but I was really impressed. Not gonna compare it to Summertime 06 since it just came out but man this is great. Will have more to say later.

I love the production outside of maybe one song. Heavy Detroit techno vibe, house, etc. Off first listen my immediate thought was wow, this is what Danny Brown tried to do on Old (Side B). That album sounds rather dated today due to chasing a trendier EDM sound, whereas Big Fish Thery is like some late 90s shyt...and that shyt still sounds fresh to this day to me.

I can tell this is gonna be a divisive album. Then again gotta remember a lot of rap folks didn't like Summertime 06 either. Personally I like the fact that he's experimenting. He has the flow to murk trap beats all day but that shyt would be tiring.

Low key I knew it was over for Vince when he was started stepping into that mainstream light as corny as it sounds. When he was on his nihilistic Shyne Coldchain music he was going crazy. Now his music sounds like it should be playing in hipster coffee shops:snoop:
At least Earl gon keep making that unfiltered realness

I appreciate artists branching out, and I think it is a well produced album. But its still just not that good.

Nothing fits for me. Vince doesn't sound like he knows how to handle the music. Flow is wack and uninteresting. Songwriting is weak.

Its not bad, its just not that good.

I wanted to like it, I gave it another listen to see if anything clicked. Nothing did.

I will try again at some point.

Same way I feel about the album.

Actually I gave it a 3rd spin today and it did click some. I still think that Vince himself is the weakest part of the album, but letting it marinate for a bit I am enjoying it more.

Only song I think is truly bad is Homage. Everything else I am starting to like.

But there is still not a single song that stands out as great
