you've been able to upgrade to new phones and just pay in 4-5 installments just tacked onto your bill with T Mobile for years.

Yeah you get the phone right and put your 199 down. And then for the next 20 months you pay an extra 20 on your phone bill.
So you pay 20 x 20 + 199= 599 for the phone over 20 mths and still pay for the phone bill also.
so thats how nikkas end up with $300 bill chargeoffs from sprint

They don't subsidize your phone, but in return you get a substantial discount on your monthly plan.
If you bring your own phone this is awesome, if you get your phone from them nothing really changes. You still pay a similar amount monthly as before.

Like I mentioned in my last post it all comes down to connects and knowing how to pimp the system (not being scared to roll the dice). Some places like Amazon, wirefly, best buy don't always know how to process orders with older plans. Also it's best to hold on to old phones especially if they are current and in good condition, cause a lot of places offer buyback programs. I haven't purchased a phone at sprint in YEARS and I'm leaving it at that
