Wait...isn't this what Dr. Umar was supposed to be doing?

Please find me one in Charlotte NC

I used to live in Charlotte, NC when I was younger.

Between CCS, Country Day, Charlotte Latin, you might find a total of 20 black people:dead:

I had a few friends who went VCS (Victory Christian School), its 100% black... or at least it was 16 years ago :francis:

Man fukk that. Im sick of this bullshyt. I want to know how he did this!!!!! All these lame ass black folks cheesin beneath him and that cacette. Im in my feelings right now. Put up the camron smiley idgaf

Probably him turning around that school in Harlem made him an attractive tax write off for some big sponsors who are doing their part by "donating to help children" thus funding his school. If Umar or anyone else had a Lean on Me type story I doubt it would be hard for them to be the face for corporate dollar backed schools, but then again Umar says he doesnt want any federal or corporate (non African centered companies that is) backing his school, because at the end of the day if you have a board of directors who disagree with your curriculum then you won't have the freedom to shape the school how you want or how it should be ie. Majority of HBCUs.

What did I say that was wrong?

I find it bizarre that u guys are more concerned about abuse by outsiders than members of the community, especially given how much bigger of a problem the internal abuse is. I guess we will have to wait for someone to make a black women bashing thread to have that discussion though. U nikkas are funny as hell :russ:

Fukk Chancellor Gee and Chancellor Zeppos, yeah I said it :ld:

In a private school/college, you best believe who your president is matters. You'll see/hear him everywhere.
My freshman year at Vandy, Chancellor Gee's messy divorce was an issue for everyone trust me.

And i remember having a few conversations with Chancellor Zeppos in Rand and realizing that this was a man who has no idea how the real world works and who has basically lived his entire life in the sheltered walls of academia :snoop:

TL:DR You are talking about a private school, not a public school. There is no comparison. The President matters more than you think

Stripper-gate is still bothering me though. I mean he wants to teach a school with black kids. He needs to keep his shyt clean. He also needs to have a good reputation. I wouldn't feel right sending my kids to a school and the founder was actively involved in hood business.

When you try to create projects and you're soliciting support you gotta be clean. I'm not sure why black people are so afraid to have standards when it comes to prominent people in the community. Especially if these prominent people are going to be dealing with out children.

Because many have no morals, ethics or values themselves. Also, that "nobody is perfect" cliche is taken too far in the community and no one is checked or held accountable for their ratchetness.

from the website:
Ron Clark and Kim Bearden met in 2000 when Disney honored them both as Teachers of the Year. They became fast friends as they shared their passion for students and creative teaching. In the fall of 2004, Clark and Bearden met to hold a serious discussion about something that they had casually chatted about numerous times over the previous five years: Clark wanted to start a school of his own - one that would be unlike any other. At that time, the school had no name, no funding, and no facility. However, Clark and Bearden’s vision for the institution were tangible from the very start-- they shared common beliefs and ideas, and they knew that they were called to move forward. Bearden gave Clark her word that she would help him with the endeavor, and the dream began.

Clark and Bearden actively recruited board members who shared their vision and passion. Once they had a team of supporters, Clark and Bearden began to scour the city in hopes of finding a school site. After looking at close to fifty properties, they came upon an abandoned, dilapidated warehouse in South Atlanta. They were told it was no place for a school; they knew it was exactly what they had been looking for. Their mission was not only to lift up their students; they wanted to lift up a community as well.

In November of 2005, Ron Clark purchased the warehouse using earnings from the sales of The Essential 55, and they moved one step closer to making the dream a reality. Extreme renovations were completed on the building while the fundraising and operational processes were set in place. Throughout the months that followed, Clark and Bearden visited countless businesses, foundations, community events, churches, and civic and neighborhood planning meetings to share their dream with anyone who would listen.

From February to March of 2007, two hundred students were interviewed to determine our first class of students. During this same time, hundreds of employee applications were received. Countless interviews were held for faculty and staff over the subsequent months, and a world-class faculty and staff was established.

On March 17, 2007, the inaugural class of sixty students was announced. Thirty-two sixth grade students and twenty- eight fifth grade students with varying strengths and challenges were selected. On September 4, 2007, a high school marching band, drum line, and color guard joined us as we welcomed the inaugural class of the Ron Clark Academy. Sixty bright-eyed, beautiful children joined us in a magical celebration as they spun the Great Wheel, became "slide certified," and discovered their house assignments.
Since that day, we have become a true family. We have challenged, motivated, disciplined, and inspired these students, and we have grown to love them for their amazing gifts and unique abilities. We truly believe that we have future world leaders at our school, and we are honored to teach them each and every day.

:russ:People still think that bloated charlatan is gonna open a school. Y2k has a better chance of happening than that.

:mjlol: Don't let that nikka come to back Chicago, because I will literally crash his event, and demand he give people their money back.

I don't know how anyone thinks he has plans to do anything at this point.

When I first saw videos of him, he was saying some real shyt. He is a homophobic prick, but he said some real shyt. Then he got some attention and it went to his head. The guy is not gonna be some leader.

And as people have said, there are already black private schools. What we need to focus on is taking back our communities with schools as the center, from the budget cutting state governments and the racist teachers unions.
