Grandma used to make them back in the day (early 90s) when I was a wee lad. They used to come in white buckets with red lettering.

Never tried them because the smell during the cleaning and prep was disgusting.

However, I kinda now wish I did. A lot of her recipes that she brought up from the south are lost to time and dementia. :mjcry:

Really regret not spending time with her in the kitchen.

I live in Cali bruh. Momma make chitlins (sometimes) for thanksgiving/christmas. Wouldn't say I love em but I still eat em. Brings me back to my Southern roots, and it helps to keep the c00n out.

Yall wanna eat kale chips and oatmeal smoothies cuz these cacs got yall ashamed to eat some intestines. Nobody said you gotta eat a chitlin sandwich for lunch everyday
absolutely has nothing to do with cacs, but everything to do with the fact that it smells like boiled shyt lol. and I'm as southern as they come, Texas by way of Louisiana

Grew up in Louisiana and haven’t touched chitlins since my aunt died over 2 decades ago. She was the only one in our family that made them. Once I found out what they were I wasn’t fukking with them back then either.

:scust:

I always wondered why her house smelled like that on Thanksgiving until I found out.

As a black man living in country ass South Carolina I've ate this too many times....

Big ass bowl with some hot sauce used to be bussin....but the family members who used to cook it are getting up there in age, so won't be too many more years to enjoy it anymore...
