GoldenGlove you cool but of all the terrible rappers out there, Wale is one of really good ones.

His projects have ranged from solid to great. He doesn't have a whack project. Mixtape about nothing, more about nothing(amazing), ambition, the gifted, album about nothing, etc...

His style is versatile. He can do brag records, conscious ones, ladies anthems, story telling, etc. He's been doing all those for years. You not being able to pigeonhole him into one category doesn't equate to a flaw or "aimless career".

I agree that doing singles with lames like g-eazy is corny, but I'm not gonna let a song or two i disagree make me write off a really good career so far. That'd be a big reach.

His style has always been a guy unafraid to talk about his flaws and be relatable to the everyday black man. He got a little more materialistic when he first signed to MMG but that phase was pretty short.

Easily a better rapper than Drake breh.

Like janelle monae keep tryna push her in a box .

These clowns keep tryna tell dude what he should be .

The only thing wale should do is shut up .

He's far too emotional but even he says this in his music .

I understand his frustration but him lashing out isn't gonna help .

I love how wale had grown he can do it all .

You got posters like @GoldenGlove talking bout all his biggest songs have a r&b lead .

Sooooooooo he likes making those type of songs .

I've never heard such sillyness so you mad cause he got hit that's involve a dope singer :mindblown: .

A song like lovehate thing should have blown up its soulful and lyrically amazing .

Even an album cut like 88 should have blown up .

I gotta check but clappers might have been his biggest song . That featured juicy j and nicki Minaj .

Stop putting wale on a box he can take you from ratchet to conscious .

I really just wish he would stop hit chasing .

He wants a big song so bad I can feel it in every song he's been dropping .

What was wrong with The Album About Nothing?

Yall saying he moved away from the Seinfield thing when his MOST RECENT ALBUM has seinfeld all over it
The Album About Nothing was solid, I didn't think it was better than The Gifted... I also felt like the concept around it was forced. The mixtape series are classic mixtapes, but the album just didn't connect like those did for me.

Even with Seinfeld's cosign that album really didn't make any waves in hiphop, or his career like I think it should have.

Wale has a style, he's like a mix of 60% Cole and 40% Big Sean with a lil drop of soul

Don't mean to simplify it, but that's what I think off top of my head at least stylistically wise

What the hell is the difference between fashion week & no hands, work or clappers besides the white guy being featured :what:

Your peanut head ass can even give a reason to why g eazy is a guy real rap rappers cant do songs with :camby:

You naming strip club records and bangers... Fashion Week is some cornball shyt, stop defending it. I expect more out of Wale at this point in his career. fukk G-Eazy, get off his dikk

You can't pull one post or line in this thread where I say Wale isn't a good rapper. I agree, his projects haven't been terrible. Some have been underwhelming, but nothing has been completely trash. I'm fully aware of his discography... but when you look at his status in hiphop and where he feels he's at... he's not even happy with it.

I agree that he's versatile. He has and can make a wide range of songs well. I think we all can agree that he makes the introspective relationship/woman appreciation song best... he makes great soulful music when he chooses to. It's not about pigeonholing him, I'm making an observation and saying... his versatility just might be a part of why he hasn't leveled up in the game like his peers have.

In your opinion, why has J. Cole and Big Sean surpassed him status/acclaim/sales wise in the game right now?

Wale wants to be a superstar but doesnt have the the "it" factor to catapult him to the next level. His Delivery is terrible and its an accomplishment he made it this far wit that delivery.

This is a great thread because it seems Wale is doing whatever get hit records instead of just letting the music bubble.

How many Wale records that people know well where there is no R&B feature carry the song?
What makes his delivery terrible? Is their a way he can improve it?
