He has every part of rapping mastered but the most basic aspect. Great flow, great wordplay, sticks to a topic for the entire verse/track, witty lines, sports metaphors are on point, knows about fashion, in tune with pop culture, reps black excellence, great at relationship tracks, no coke raps or manufactured tales from gangsterland, great at beat selection.

"DMV slur" ain't got shyt to do with it. Look at Oddisee. That nikka accent is thick but you can hear every line. Wale is trying too hard to sound a certain way and it comes across forced a lot of times. Like how can you not stay on beat...that shyt is frustrating. He needs a real producer around him and not just beatmakers.
