He consistently said that this album is strictly for his fans during his interview runs.

If he truly believes that this is what his fans rock with him for then he really doesn't even understand his own fanbase

:francis:

Aye young I'm starting to really like this joint breh .

I was riding home from my man new house and this joint crank .

Think I'm changing my mind from ok to solid .

I think I get it for real .

We let lil Wayne make a rock album :francis: we gotta let wale have one :manny:.

album sounds fantastic with the wind blowing and beautiful weather .

Smile is so fukking good...one of Wale's best hooks. The song gives off that mid 90s flavor and Thank God with the black moon sample is nice but the album is still weak as shyt. It sounds better in the car when you're not really paying attention but as a Wale fan I don't where he went wrong with this one..leaving off heat like Know Me, New Phone, Black Is Gold and Illuminate. Two of them had videos smh. He could had dropped some of the weak stuff off the album as loosies.

Wale and Big Sean are practically the same rapper to me with how they craft their albums being hella formuliac, catering to the radio, chasing hits etc but will always remain in Cole, Kendrick and Drakes shadow despite being talented rappers.

On another note I think I may need to go back and revisit Album About Nothing because it seems to get a lot of love on here. Personally I didn't really think it was that great because of all the singy and slow moody cuts but ima do that later.

I wouldn't say it's awful, but it's one of those songs that people will hear and say, "He's only making this kind of record because Drake did it"
and fine girl? seems like much of hiphop has been running w/ that sound since views. u cant tell me breh's music hasnt been influenced by that album. both songs arent bad tho. in fact scanning through posts i expected the worst but im liking what im hearing. this album isnt bad at all. better than sunset. i can understand fans wanting something more hard hitting however. 'executive produced by karen civil' hmm?

Sean doesn't make questionable picks for his albums tho, nor does he drop singles that are better than what ends up on his album
