What I'm saying is the the n-word in both forms and meanings has historical ties in the Americas specifically toward African Americans. Africans weren't getting called negros or n-words explicitly becuase that was not a word from African culture. It's more so ignorance on the African American experience and history.

I think you're correct. If we existed on blank slate meaning no scientist has a historical picture of genetics, I doubt they'd be able to tell a white person's DNA from a black person's DNA. The only reason they can tell is because of other tests being conducted in certain regions where groups of people have similar DNA. Most people, white, black, etc..., are the same genetically with a few differences on the protein level. With that said, 'race' is essentially skin deep and unfortunately human thinking isn't sophisticated enough to notice that most people are just the same with varying degrees of looks.
