Biracial is Biracial in reality and outside of the U.S. Besides validation and self esteem reasons, the one historical reason Black Americans claim Biracials is because they have historically been lumped in with their full Black counterparts.....Like Frederick Douglass for example, who is the founding father of Black American civil rights and who's father was a White slaver.....But, arguably Frederick and other mixed race figures like him around his time, are different than the biracial folks of today in the sense that they were the product of rape. Nowadays, biracial folks mostly identify as Black even though they are what they are..... which is Biracial.
