This country needs political pressure to make paid time off and parental leave fundamental rights.

There’s literally zero good argument against this when most developed countries on earth offer it already.
The idiots in this country are too easily distracted and divided to stop the Oligarchs from taking every dollar they can get.

I’m willing to concede that the pendulum swung a bit too far in favor of the employee during Covid but the precedent they setting now is ridiculous.
Like hell it did. What the American worker could’ve demanded before going back to work pales in comparison to the ability to just work remotely. But mf’s was so concerned about themselves that they didn’t pounce on that opportunity and it’s never coming back.

I read the article. Walgreens used to give holiday pay to their workers regardless of whether they worked the holiday or not. Now you have to work to get the holiday pay. Still foul as that was a great benefit, but not as egregious as it sounds.
Thats the way it’s supposed to be. You get paid for the holiday and get double pay if you actually work the holiday.

These Walgreens, CVS, Etc are only open because of their pharmacies but it’s about over

However once again the elderly will pay because a lot of these stores are in the hood
I think it's understated just how core to local blocks these stores are. All the Walgreens in my City are still doing fine, not much shyt is locked up or anything like that. But, the CVS spots have been struggling I think all of them or maybe all but 1 have closed. It was weird being out east and seeing all the rite aids closed up. I haven't really assessed but I would imagine in most of the areas that would qualify as a "food desert" around me the Walgreens/CVS is easier for people to get to than the Grocery Store/Walmart Pharmacies.
