I'm being lazy, so I don't feel like getting links.

But:

Running for an hour << Walking for an hour

In terms of burning calories; your body takes about 25 mins to get to a mode of burning 'em

Your gotta run a longer distance to burn the same amount of calories, walking a shorter distance

Plus, running gets dem knees

Isn't that know Tiger blew his out (pre cheating scandal); running, on cement, so much?

Not true. I kept 20 lbs off by walking. I was actually getting food that wasn't good for me at the destination. I hurt my foot (thereby stopped eating the bad food) but actually gained weight from not walking during that time. Every little bit counts.

I agree. So I just spent nearly $900 on a bicycle so I can change up my working routine

I hate running and elipticals and tredmills are boring as fuk regardless what kind of music or tv is playing in the background

Everytime I try to get back into cardio I stop, so I copped a dope hybrid Bike, to switch it up :ahh:

OP is an idiot, humans are designed to walk, not sprint/run, that's why we can't outrun most land animals.

:what::mindblown::heh: Just wow, WOW You're ignorance is painfully offensive. I'm an idiot for wasting my time responding to this but listen. Our ability to sweat, our upright posture that enables us to minimize sun exposure and to have a higher lung capacity enables us to run marathons at a higher speed than most land animals.

Walking should not be a person's only way of exercise, but a brisk walk is good for you. Besides going to the gym or doing home workouts, I take brisk walks (every day and I dont run) and it has been great for me.

Dude, don't do that. Come at me with some substance or don't quote me.

Man! I can't stand the childishness, on this site.

Walking is better for short exercise. Yeah, if you training for a marathon, you're not gonna go on brisk walks to improve your lung capacity.

Since this ain't The Gym, I was assuming we were talking about short, low impact exercise.

And a "fat" person can't go from Cheetos breath and bed sores to dead sprints. Walking isn't "lazy exercise," there are benefits.

Your ignorance is the only thing on display :heh: Making up shyt to try and add credibility to your fabricated non sense is comical. How about researching the topic before coming here to post your subjective and emotionally outburst reply :heh:

Humans, 'monkeys,' 'apes,' are all meant to walk, not run. You wouldn't know though because it's obvious you haven't done the research.

I know this chick who walks mutiple miles a day. She is constantly posting on facebook about walking 5 miles, 7 miles etc.

She is still heavy. Not obese, but if you saw her you wouldn't think she works out.

Walking, as a form of exercise, does have merit.
1. The person is beginning a physical fitness program and cannot run the entire distance they want to.
2. Overweight.
3. Rehabilitating from surgery.
4. Elderly.

You can burn as many calories as you can from running. It will just take a longer time and distance to accomplish the same goal.
So, I had shoulder surgery last year and could not weight lift or run. I walked. It was an hour of walking on a hilly path, but I got a workout.
