Too little too late.
People need to go to college, trade school, or military. Or do something like truck driving if you got to. People will call you a bootstrap c00n, but there is no tried and true alternative. Voting wouldn't work because even if minimum wage was $20/hr that's still not even enough.
Get up and grind people. Move back in with your parents, get a roommate, shack up with the opposite sex, whatever needs to be done to get ahead.
What you're saying isn't necessarily untrue, but assuming you're around my age (mid to late 30s, or maybe you're older), shyt ain't the same as when we were out here trying to figure it out. The work market as of now is geared toward you really having one shot at entering the workplace at an acceptable pay due to college, trade schools, etc. Once you're in, most career paths don't really offer most workers the time or money needed to be able to reinvest in themselves for career improvement. If most people don't have enough money tucked away to deal with an unexpected issue with their car, they're not sitting on the resources needed to facilitate a meaningful career change.
so kats like Corey and Papa Pimp can take advantage of these heffas with no options...

I worked adjacent to the construction business for about 5 years (AV and automation integration). There really aren't as many trade job openings as you think. I watched Boston's electrician rates drop during the early 2000s as trade schools pumped out graduates for the field. The good pay is only a representation of the shortages. Once the shortages go away, so will the good pay rates. Microsoft, Amazon, and Google layed off a combined 40k people over the past couple weeks. That number alone is greater than the number of vacancies for trades throughout the country. So yes, if an individual sees a trade opening, I'd highly recommend they go for it, as it can be lucrative. But it's not a fix that can applied universally.Internet is right at your fingertips breh. A lot of careers pay great. I'm not even talking about just STEM. I work in the Construction industry and trades are dying for young blood, a lot of the old heads are retiring.
I legit don't understand where do yall get these talking points
Now ask yourself, are you gone continue to struggle or get it out the mud? This isn't a yes or no question
@TheGreatMTB how much per hour would be enough?Still not enough. Though I can't judge them because this is better than the minimum.
We need a federal minimum wage hike...it's insane that $7.25 can still be offered. After taxes you're practically worked to afford gas to get to work.
