i have to disagree with you here. when it comes to math, as with music, or maybe lets say languages, there ARE people who naturally gifted.
I am not one of them. However, my dad has PHD in applied mathematics and my little brother was a prodigous math student from a very, very young age.
We both grew up in the same house hold and we both were held to the same standards with regard to studying. Quite frankly, we were latch-key kids, so my parents didnt force any of us to study as long as we got A's in class. I can tell you for a FACT that i studied probably 5-6x more than my brother and got better grades in all subjects EXCEPT math.
My brother was a Johns Hopskins CTY talent search kid that scored over a
700 in 7th grade on the math section of the SAT.
He did not study one single bit for the exam. No problem sets, no practice test, no anything. He just walked in and slayed. I took the SAT 4 times in HS and it wasnt until my first semester senior year that I cracked 700. I also took about 15 practice SATs and several practice sets

See the thing is I studied super had in math and feigned liek it came easy. And since I am black and I did well people always used to think I was some type of natural genius

By I know the truth because I grew up with someone who i know for a fact has a natural inclination toward logical reasoning and has been to do shyt like multiple 2 digit number (e.g. 47 x 78) in his head rapidly since middle school

I know for a fact that he did not study super hard and my dad was not a tiger dad by any means. With math, there is such thing as pure, natural talent. And there is also such a thing as people who struggle mightily despite there best attempts.
Most people however fall somewhere in the middle and with the right learning method + effort they can become capable.
