My post had more to do with the companies underpaying and that you can't get drivers if you don't pay them.

I never called crane operators lazy and I spoke on Port workers in general. I don't know what/who the media is blaming for the backlog & I'm not angry at anyone. I was speaking generally on things that container haulers deal with that will make people not want to do it for the money the companies are paying.

Sometimes ports can be a hassle because even if someone is doing what they're directed to do it may not coincide with how the driver needs things to go. Can't really be helped.

It's generally easier to deal with than a shipper but there's a good reason why companies put "all drop and hook freight" in their advertisements.

containers are tough.. and crane operators have it bad. Definitely not an easy job and its not always their fault.. Truckers are idiots, and will help make your day tough..

We are good! Just know that there are people in power who created this bullshyt and want pass the blame on those who have no control over what comes in/out the ports.

Also, the truckers who are complaining need to blame themselves for selling their souls to the devil. Wherehouses and big box stores also need to take accountability! They need to break bread to make bread!

Salute back @ cha!

I've never heard $250k but I do know they bring in some good money. Only issue is the unionized part that you mentioned because you can't come in as a crane operator, afaik. You gotta start with something basic and work your way up. And there's no guarantee you'll even end up in that job. This is what I've been told.

I don't have all of the info on them, though. Maybe someone who's worked on that side can elaborate. I've only dealt with ports from the driver perspective.
Those long shoremen I-Talians run that :mjpls:
