Say, breh. I was watching/listening to something the other day, and they said that those port crane operators out in Cali are pulling like $250k a year. You know anything about that being true? Like many fire departments, I’m sure that it’s unionized and political/nepotistic as fukk to pull a job like that.
If I ever quit my career, I’m going that route or with trucking. fukk the bullshyt.

Its easy to blame dockworkers instead of looking at the shipping companies, trucking companies and wherehousing companies.
Whoever made disparaging comments about crane operators are just hating! I believe that person is a port truck driver(piggy backer) and is disgruntled because he may have to wait longer that he want for his container or someone may have said some foul shyt to him in the past.
Just know that crane operators exclusively work within ship operations and outside truckers deal specifically with yard operations. Two separate operations...

My home boy lost his teeth from an accident driving a truck, if you drive everyday you are at risk in any vehicle
it's a dangerous job, Truck Driving has more fatalities than other job in America
The shortage of drivers 61,000 before now its 80,000, so people weren't lining up for this jobs in the first place because they are dangerous

between dealing with bullshyt at the rail yard,delays waiting on the train,potholes all over the railyard,dealing with holster drivers bullshyting waiting them to get your trailer and these weak ass shipping companies paying bs wages like 50 dollars a trailer for owner operator
or 24 dollars a hour if you work for a company i can see why it's a shortage and the federal government need to let felons get their CDL and hazmat if you a felon you might be able to get your CDL but you can't get your hazmat
