Also, another difference is that back then, rapoers were getting arrested for saying shyt and lobbies were trying to get congress to BAN gangsta rap. The FBI was sending letters and shyt.

So it was a matter of freed of speech and the 1st amendment. I don't think people today are saying that congress should pass laws or that the police should arrest cardib/meg or whatever. I think discussing and criticizing is ok. I personally think they should have the right to say whatever they want. But acting like it has no influence on people is crazy. Just like acting like gangsta rap has no influence on young men is crazy (and i say that with an ice cube avi). But again, let's not act like it was exactly the same situations.
