If this song came out in 2013 it’d just be a club track or a track women use to twerk with but now in 2020 this an empowering anthem and we’re getting think pieces out of it? I don’t have an issue with the song or the video or none of that but the reaction to it has been overblown imo.

No doubt but men are only concerned about it when women on Cardi b and Megan thee stallion are popular on that same degenerate behavior. Where were you all in the last 20 years since this ish has been going on?

The issue I see is rappers and men being mad that former strippers have found a lane that they can capitalize that doesn't completely rely on men throwing dollar bills on them and they can be front and center. If this was truly about toxic behavior than the male mirrors of these women would have been addressed.

Rap has a duality that is more and more evident in this current climate we live in. I definitely think a song like WAP has a place in hip-hop and any other year it would probably feel more ok but 2020 has changed prospectives for a lot of people.

A significant amount of black people are trying to lift the collective conscious of the community while a lot of entertainers basically divert the attention of the community to things that just don’t matter or serve no good long term.

Is partying, sex, drugs and gangsta sh!t all we about?

Just 2/3 months ago, it felt completely different.
