This won't unload debt though.
That is why it doesn't make sense.
Well, in this case yeah they probably won’t, I think it’s just a failed marketing thing in tbh.

Merging the companies is one thing but merging the streaming services and then purging the streaming content was dumb.

I'm sure they will try to launch another streaming service with cnn/tnt/discovery, that I will NEVER subscribe to.

I've owned shares in AT&T for many years, so back when they spun off warner/discovery a few years ago, I was given shares in the new company. these shares were dogshyt, cuz warner/discovery has so much fukking debt, the stock did nothing but go down. I expect that I will receive shares in this new :trash: company of discovery/cnn.

now that TNT will no longer carry NBA games, I have no use for their network anymore.

The purging of content is just what you have to do when you renegotiate content licensing.
They had to lock that down properly as to not open themselves up to potential litigation later on, that they were artificially deflating the streaming licensing amount.
You notice all streamers drop content and pick it back up.

They really split it into two? :mjlol: One company has somewhat of a future and the other company now basically a discount Roku channel.

The cable networks are still highly profitable but cable is dying and everyone knows it. They are going to drain as much out of the cable networks as they can and hope to sell them off to a company that will in turn let the channels die once cable is no longer viable.

On the other hand, WB Pictures/HBO and all of those properties are worth something for the long haul. The goal there has been a merger.

The split makes perfect sense for what they are trying to do.

For what it’s worth - NBC is doing the same. If I hadn’t really started at my current job I probably would’ve interviewed over there with a referral from a friend.
