The Cult of Meat with Extra Cheese...
This was hard AF I don't give a fukk what anybody say.. the run from Lonely Girl to the end was classic
Nah this shyt is classic
Damn I thought they were fire.. sorrythe beats on the 2 songs you posted are ASS
if you like em. Enjoy em. Its just when I think of the generic beats that I don't like on this album and from this era in general...those are what i think of. Weak drums, cheesy instruments, sample-less, repetitive. I dunno, I don't dig em.Damn I thought they were fire.. sorry
Snoop, also his idea to release a Dogg Pound album with no Daz beatsWho the fukk's brilliant idea was it to release a 213 album with little to no Warren G production on it? Head scratching.
This is the same timeframe Snoop thought a newly reunited Dogg Pound should be rapping to Swizz Beatz tracks, not a single Daz beat on Cali Iz Active but if you ever wondered how DPG sounds on a Ryan Leslie beat you're in luck smh, I'm convinced Snoop has a resentment towards the listeners and when the most anticipated projects are in the chamber he fukks them up on purpose, 213, Cali Iz Active, Missionary, the new Death Row, Snoop is an a$$hole. There was no Warren G production on the album. He produced two remixes to "Groupie Luv" which if they were put on the album would have been the best two produced tracks.
Album was a massive flop for West Coast fans. I think Dre and Snoop were on the outs in 2004, but Snoop had Warren G, Fredwreck, and Soopafly right there to produce beats, along with Daz (who I think patched things up with Snoop by this point) and DJ Quik probably available too. Could have been a west coast classic but he dropped a brick instead.
It's funny how times works. The album was like 10 years late but also 20 years early. I think it sounds better today as a time capsule than in 2004 when it failed to be relevant lol
This track is incredible and encapsulates fly Cali shyt but wasn't going to make waves in 2004...
