Looking at just his beats you'll see what I mean about him being underrated:

All his joints sound fresh and have their own flex with no cookie cutter in em plus he topped the charts multiple times without hit making or chasing and yet he's pretty much invisible. Odd, isn't it? Reminds me of Quik in that respect but with a far more commercial flex as he doesn't get his props either.

don't remember this at all, was it on his second album? How did he clear a Tina sample, for her biggest hit? Def Jam budgets. This is actually really dope, for some late 90's forgotten song. I would have been 12 when this out.

Remember the male enhancement commercial he did lol

think the last 20 years have been hard on Warren G

but big part of the late 90's, esp. being from Southern Cali

Nobody Does It Better was an anthem for awhile, in 1998, had the cc single

I think the reason it's been hard is because he's been snakebit by timing and bad luck. His second album came out the same day as Biggie's Life After Death so he was doomed from the jump given where all the attention was going. "Nobody Does It Better" was for Nate's album, his 3rd album was overshadowed by Dre's comeback album, and for some unknown and insane reason, Snoop opted not to have Warren G produce anything for the only 213 album (that album might have been the biggest missed opportunity in hip-hop history but that's a different topic for a different day) except for remixes to "Groupie Luv".

It actually appeared on the Supercop Soundtrack first in July 1996 ("Made nikkaz" by 2pac was actually officially released first on this soundtrack as well, about a year and a half before Death Row put it on the Gang Related Soundtrack). Was the lead single and actually had a video made that had Jackie Chan in it. Pretty sure the third verse is about Suge Knight.

He also had this classic that was on The Nutty Professor soundtrack that's heavily slept on

oh I saw that, and was thinking of TimeCop with Van Damme, LOL I remember watching Supercop on black box ppv

That Adina Howard record should have been major, it had the whole treatment. That was supposed to be the one for Warrnen Don't remember that at all, but it's going in the rotation. That's pure 90's fire.

thanks for the insight
