When Snoop wasn't on Regulate ..G Funk Era, I was shocked.

Warren G even saved a spot for him on Recognize.

N to the A to the T to the E....the S to the N to the double O-P.....

But Warren had to settle for a dude tryna sound like Snoop:mjcry:

It was very odd that Warren was shouting out Snoop on every other song but he wasn’t on the album. Apparently Snoop did help with some writing though.

I agree with everything you're saying. Yes they should be listed as co-producers and compensated as such. But Dre is the quarterback here, the chain to the bike. If he doesn't have his hand in this with hook placement, verse placement, artist placement, bridge, and final touch mixing it's just another dope beat that never reaches its pinnacle. That's all I'm saying.

So they make the food and Dre handles the plating and garnish but doesn't credit them for the recipe :comeon:

Engineers get credited for mixing and mastering so that's separate from production. If you're not crediting those involved in the beat making process you're stealing.

It's no different than Beyonce getting songs from writers than demanding 75% of the writing credits. It's big name artists strong arming smaller ones. They use the excuse that the song wouldn't be a hit without them so they deserve all the credit. This is why artists and producers sign people but never let them release an album. They're just leeching off their ideas and taking their work. Dre had Warren and Daz around for selfish reasons.

I'll always have more respect for the ones who can make the beat AND produce the song or produce from the ground up. Enhancing a beat you were given is fine if you give credit.

He just wanted an invite for his son
I don't think he's tripping off no bread
Didn't Snoop put him in one of his commercials?

And Snoop was right in that old interview, people love to downplay Dre's talent and achievements
He's not Travis Scott..cut it out

Everybody wanna dikk ride the HNIC.
Sometimes you in the G league for a reason, don't see why Warren G couldn't get with DJ Quik and Bay Area rappers and producers...

Quik's production fits Warren G better anyway, but all that set trippin' in the rap game the reason Cali didn't solidify like NY, 'cause we only talkin' 'bout South Central and the Bay Area as far as the rap game concerned in Cali, and Pomona if you wanna be technical with Suga Free, but that's DJ Quik in South Central.

I think the gang culture crossed over into the Cali hip-hop scene in South Central to its detriment. It shouldn't be the case it's like ten well-known dudes in the same region who ain't gettin' bread together in the region.

Gang politics is very important, you gotta be careful and not get dragged down by it. Doesn’t seem like warren fuked with suge but quik did due to blood gang ties

Snoop Dogg was a crip on Death Row Records. Suge Knight from Compton, not Long Beach.
Warren G and Nate Dogg were at least crip-affiliated. Dr. Dre from Compton.
The song I posted proof those gang politics weren't as important by '03.
Everybody had enough time in the game to do something for the region and they didn't.

Gang politics was important that cross colors could rep Death Row Records but the region they repped suffered as far as hip-hop is concerned?

:camby::camby::camby:
Been all over SC growin' up, anybody that did time know somebody from a rival set they on good terms with.

A similar argument can be made about the East Coast, we let infightin' get serious about some superficial shyt get so much in the way that the culture we created, know and love suffered.
Dre and Snoop be on some funny style shyt. Warren laid the whole foundation for Death Row with the artists he brought to them. Not to mention some of the uncredited beats he did. They owe him, even though he’s not asking for anything. The only reason Warren didn’t blow up to the level he should have is because he never had a machine totally behind him. I know his debut went multi platinum, but it was on a NY label that was never fully behind him.
Warren G could have used that to get on as an A&R and became an exec on the West Coast even if he ran an indie. Woulda been dope to see him be a part of TDE.
