Ideally, yes; that's true, but remember Klay is also a member of a union, so he doesn't bargain in a vacuum. I'm sure it's frowned upon not getting every dollar you can because that can effect negotiations down the road with other members of said union.

That being said, most of the people upset with Klay taking a paycut don't really give a fukk about his $$$, they just want to see the Warriors break up due to financial constraints.
