The hilarious part about folks talking shyt about his pockets is he's already made more than most of their entire families.

At his level of rich you stop caring about an extra 50 million if you're happy. I ain't mad if he don't wanna be like Russ making the max, but hanging out with tumbleweeds during the season. If he's coming off a rookie contact I get it, but he's already made 50 million plus.

You misunderstood me

What Klay is doing is corny as fukk

When stars don't take their market value it punishes other guys who choose to take what their worth

No it doesn't, especially in a league with max salaries like the NBA. Lets be honest, people are only mad in this situation because KD and Klay taking less is helping the Warriors stay together. Its about this team, not the NBA in general.

I don't think so because value/worth is a fluid concept when negotiating. Him taking less doesn't affect what kawhi and PG are gonna do. Owners can try to play dumb about giving money to other folks, but any agent worth their money will automatically say KD/KT are outliers.

It depends on what you mean by punish. In the eyes of some fans/pundits? Sure, but fukk them. In the eyes of owners? They'll try to play dumb about it, but they understand the context of it. At the end of the day Klay took into account of what that extra 50 million was going to cost him in another way (breaking up the team/going to another city he hates/giving up a no trade clause) and thought it wasn't worth it.

Klay ain't going anywhere. He grew up the son of an NBA player, so it's not like he's got dozens of family/homies he's got to feed. Once you get to a certain level of cash, other stuff comes into play. I'll take $100 million and a handful of rings over $170 million and no rings. He's not like LeBron or Durant where he's gotta worry about his legacy in the all-time pantheon. Breh is just gonna be a great (maybe borderline HOF) player with a bunch of money and rings. That's winning at life.

I see what you're saying but just like you said, he doesn't have to worry about his legacy. He already has 2 rings and might even win more before his contract is up. So why not go after the money since he doesn't have to worry about legacy?

I'm a bay breh so I don't mind him sticking around but leaving money on the table is not something I'd recommend. Get your money Klay :banderas:

Being the lead guy making 200 million, having multiple endorsements > 101 million, 0 endorsments just to shoot and win ships.

Why doesn't he have any endorsements, part of the contract? If Draymond is on every commercial, Klay should at least be on one

I been saying this sh*t

It's just basic economics

Other teams can't realistically contend with a group of dudes taking less than market value so they can play together.......unless other teams have guys doing the same

When LeBron/Wade/Bosh took paycuts so they could have 3 max dudes play together, you don't think that put other stars who wanna win in a compromising position? :dahell:

Klay’s living in the best location, on the best team, having the best career he could. I can see why he’s down to take a pay cut :manny:

Personally though I want to see him get a max. He deserves it :wow: let the owners pay more tax, get your bread Klay

So teams should be forced to be evenly distributed with Star or Max level players? Players should be forced to make a decision to leave a place because they are obligated to take the most money offered? It makes no sense to take a decision out of the players hands.

If guys want to sacrifice to play on the same teams as certain players... so be it.
