Less than that... Cali cats get hit hard since their state income tax is like twice as much as other states. Almost half of Steph's check went to taxes and agent fees

Three things to keep in mind:

1) Money that goes to escrow comes back to the player in the following year. Escrow exists because salary cap figures are based on projections of the coming year's BRI (Basketball Related Income). If BRI is lower than what was projected, then players' total compensation is reduced proportionally through what's held in escrow and the remainder is paid out to the player. If BRI is higher than what was projected, not only do players get every penny put into escrow, but also receive an additional payment proportional to the difference between actual BRI and their salary based on projected BRI.

2) Players must pay state / city income taxes in every state / city that they play in based on their per-game pay. So when the Warriors play an away game against the Knicks, Steph has to shell out New York State and New York City income taxes for the proportion of his total salary earned through playing in that game.

3) Until this year, those state and city income taxes that players paid in every away game plus the state and city income taxes they paid in their home market were fully deductible from their federal taxes. In 2018 this changed - now the maximum state & city income tax deduction is $10,000. So players across the league will end up paying a whole lot more tax moving forward - pretty much taking the full brunt of both federal and state & city income taxes.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
what about winning a million rings? what about living your own life?

we do this every time a player takes a cut. usually a black player, cause i don't see all these threads about brady doing it. how do any of us know what motivates these guys?

piece of mind is priceless. and it's definitely worth 101 million taxes, fees, lawyers and all. he was drafted there, he loves the city, it's one of the best in the country. he's insanely rich. he's pretty much crowned one of the best shooters of all time. it's lead to 2 rings. he doesn't have to chase them. he doesn't have to join a superteam, he's on one. his happens to have the second best player.. and probably the 4th... and a top defender.. and they bout to win a third ring... and who the fukk gonna stop them from 4-6 right now?

of course he can go get a max. you think he don't know that? you think his friends and family aren't bringing up the same things? there's something about loving what you do. loving going to work. loving coming home. loving where you live. you don't fukk that up for paper. it's not always worth it

Man... the fact that you think race doesn't play a part in sports as far as contractual negotiations are concern is telling.... either you're oblivious to it, or haven't been watching sports for a while.... the NFL is notorious for it...

Chandler Parsons got a big deal for being tall, white, and handsome
First off pause. :dame:

Second, Parsons was a good player on the come up when he signed, injuries destroyed his career.
