If you had the chance, would you take $100k to work with super talented employees that will help you every step of the way and make your job EASY AS HELL,

or

Would you take $140k to go to a shyt hole company and work with incompetent employees that you have to babysit the whole time and basically do all the work yourself with little-to-no help?

I dont see how taking more money makes more sense.

Especially factoring in that its sunny california and he’s playing with 2 surefire HOFers whom happen to be his bestfriends

Also remember Klay grew up rich. He’s been in the right financial situation his whole life so I doubt he’s tripping. That would work more with someone who didn’t grow up with that privilege, who is getting all the money he can. Somebody who’s been rich his whole life might be thinking differently. Like everybody else said, he’s in the most perfect situation right now with the Warriors.

You threw out that "couple" like it's a small thing worth overlooking.

I didn’t know how much he was possibly leaving on the table, but it is worth overlooking if you’re happy and anywhere close to being a competent, functioning adult. You stupid enough to fukk up 100 million then you stupid enough to fukk up 200 :yeshrug:

How? That money is going to be spent one way or another, whether its Klay or not. I don't understand this line of thinking. If its not Klay, it would be another free agent or one of the current players would get more money.

Luxury tax. GSW could give all 4 of their core the max, but they would get hit heavy with the luxury tax, which would cut into ownership's profits. By taking a discount their putting money back in Lacob's pocket.

That's the point. They're going to be billionaires either way. Luxury tax or no luxury tax.
But if they don’t want to pay it, then Klay may have to find a new team which he doesn’t seem to want to do.

You all do because you want GS to break up not out of any concern for the players

Someone else would get that money. What people are saying in here is that Klay passed up on multi millions, from other teams. So if it wasn't going to come from the dubs, how is he saving them money? If he demands the max and they balk at it, which is probable, all they do is sign someone else or multiple players with the remaining money they have. So either way the money is spent.

No its not. When youre 60 and are building an empire that may require a few more million you dont have available, youre not going to give a fukk about the ships you won 30 years prior.

No, Klay can get the most from the Warriors. He can't get more anywhere else and they can't just give some other free agent the max because of the salary cap. Warriors own his Bird rights so they can give Klay a max contract, but it will cost them additional millions in luxury tax penalties. As one the most valuable teams in professional sports right now, they could easily eat that cost. They don't want to. Klay signing for less, saves the team money. Same thing with Cleveland and LeBron. If LeBron leaves in the summer they can't just sign Kawhi Leonard to replace him, but they will save millions in luxury tax penalties.
