If the warriors win 4 or 5 straight then I think the league will finally push for a hardcap and the removal of max salaries. that will make it impossible for a team to have 3 all stars (assuming they have self respect and dignity)

Even if you set the hardcap at $140 mil, they wouldn't be able to keep draymond curry Durant and Klay

if those guys want to stay together (and they do knowing what they can accomplish), it won't stop them from colluding to stay on the team. :yeshrug:

Yeah it will, if they have dignity and self respect

If the max salary is 35, a player might prefer to make 30-32 and win

But if you remove the max and a guy like Durant can get 50 mil from someone, they aren't gonna settle for 30 for a ring

Unless they have no dignity or self respect

What does the league do if a team drafts and grooms three all stars then like the Warriors or Thunder did?

As long as players keep taking pay cuts to play for contenders, you'll need a soft cap so that the rest of the league can exceed the cap in order to keep up. hard cap won't fix anything at all

How will a hard cap not fix anything?

If Durant and curry wanna play together, they won't be able to have draymond and Klay

Lebron can't have kyrie AND love

Thing is it won't just affect those two. There's 6 teams other than Cleveland that have higher payrolls than Golden State.

Would a team like Portland be able to keep Lillard, McCollum & Nurkic?

read my post I mentioned paycuts

Read my post above that

There's a difference between Durant taking 30 mil when the max is 35 mil

With no max Durant is getting 50 mil or more

He's not leaving 20 mil a year on the table for a ring
