Nah, Kumingas is who he is. This is who he was gonna be no matter the coachThat’s where player development should come in. Kerr is a ceiling raiser as far as coaches go, not a floor raiser.
If Kuminga can’t understand that when the warriors pass the ball to the post, the split action they’ve been running for a decade is coming, that’s on Kuminga.
The only coaches people would be satisfied coaching Kuminga are the ones who don’t run plays (aka the tanking coaches). So guys like Jim Boylen, Lloyd pierce, etc.
He’s gotten a million chances and all he has to do is stop being a ball stopper, don’t look off a wide open Steph curry, stop dribbling a million times then shooting the mid-range shot you haven’t been able to hit efficiently in 4 years. Stuff like that
Kuminga’s inability to really improve is because he thinks he’s a future all star. He’s not. His ceiling is decent role player.
Last season, before jimmy came, his USG rate was the same as jokic’s first MVP season. Blaming Kerr is a lazy unintelligent talking point. He gets his chances, he’s just not that guy
Jdub
Amen thompson
Jalen Johnson
Trey Murphy
Franz wagner
Those are the premier wings of the future. Kuminga isn’t there because he’s extremely limited as a player
